comparison of new tires to worn old tires
new- dunlop sp sport 8000 in 245/45ZR18 summer tires, old- nankang ns-II in 245/40-18 (sidewall is too short, it looks stupid in the wheelwell, the tires are worn very badly, alingement problem on previous owners car i think, and one is split)

the inner lips of these 2 are bent a little..should i get them straightened or just leave them? they hold air and balance fine, so im thinking i wont mess with them.

driving up to morad parts company on tuesday to pick up winter wheels for the t-stars...might buy 2 more t stars or even 15 inch montana wheels for dot radials for the track..

i know the photos show a lot of the bad, but once the new tires are on and the wheels are polished up, mext summer im gonna be a very happy camper.

You will probably have a shimmy and feel it at high speeds from the bent wheels. I would look into having the straightened personally. Or I would've passed on that purchase but that's neither here nor there.

firstly i was unaware of how bad the wheels were, but after driving 8 hours one way through a snowstorm, i wasnt going home empty handed. i was also under the impression that the tires were driveable, the pictures did not show what i see now.

i got all 5 wheels, crap tires, and locking lugs with a ky for 450 though

I wonder how a bamf hammer would fair to those bent lips...horrible ideas but if I was bored on a nice day I would probably figure out how bad of a idea it is:) But if it cost more than the wheels are worth to you I would put them on and see how they ride.

I paid $400 for my 18's with two extra tires...

snow, salt, sand what is that? i like my 40 degree winters here in SC...my GTP was local all its life i might have 2 percent rust on the car.

yeah. im getting some rust repaired in the spring and this winter will be this gtp's last, because next year it gets put away.

That sucks that you drove so far and they wern't what the guy told you. I did the same thing but only about an hour. I was told one rim had slight curb rash and the tires were close to the wear bars but still good. When I saw them, 3 out of 4 had curb rash, 2 tires had steel cords showing and the other 2 wern't much better. It would be nice if people would be more honest rather than wasting peoples time.

yeah, i wouldnt have bought them if i knew what shapre they were really in..money is too tight to throw around liek that now.

i got the new tires mounted and balnced and got everything taken care of though. the place didnt straighten the wheels because they dunked them and they didnt leak, and the bends are only on the lip, not into the barrel of the wheel, and they balanced perfectly. they didnt want to do it unless they leaked or wouldnt blance, because they apply heat and it can discolor and chip the chrome.

I'm just saying there's a lot of wheels around here that go for $300-$500 as a set.

sorry, text is misleading. i thought you were going for a "youre retarded and got ripped off" type thing.

yeah, but these are nice wheels, the ones ive wanted since first seeing them, and now that everything is sorted out i feel better about them, so im pretty happy.

It's fine I kinda figured that much that's why I clarified, no offense taken.

I think they look pretty cool actually, congrats. Personally I like more of the stock look.
