My new toolbox

Finally jumped the gun and decided to buy myself a new Christmas present, I picked up a brand new Matco toolbox/cart its a JSC770. It was between the JSC770 and Snap-On's KRSC46. They were both around the same price but I liked the Matco one better because of the customization options and I already have a Snap-On box and decided to try a Matco box out. Its bigger then I thought it was and being in the autobody field it will hold basically just about everything I need. It is a great quality box and I have no complaints about it and I really like the stainless work top. Anyway just thought Id share to anyone who is in the auto field and may be purchasing a new box.

Nice box man! I need to get me a rollcart.

I have 1 of the matco 5s and one 4s. If I had it to do all over again I'd go back to Snapon.
The matco paint chips easily. Atleast it does on their older boxes. They may have changed their powdercoat process by now though.

Thanks! And there new boxes seem like there great quality a guy in work has a new 4s he had for over a year and no chips yet, and he doesn't keep up with keeping it clean either. I like Snap-On's tools alot better for the most part but I always liked the Matco boxes better for some reason. How old are your boxes?

5yrs old. I've got flakes of paint coming off at the bottom of both boxes.
And their chipped badly at the top. I just try to touch it up everything I see a new spot. Debating on trading both of them in and going either Mac or Snapon.

Well over all you cant go wrong with Snap-On Im not familiar with Mac boxes but there prices are pretty good. That sucks your having that issue with the boxes, with the prices these things cost its a shame to see things like that happen. But Im sure with a trade in on the 2 boxes you can get a decent amount off a new box, the only thing trading another companies box into someone else they might not give you as much as trading them right into Matco. What kind of work do you do?

Mechanic, machinist, fabrication, welder, etc......

Last time I talked to my Snapon dealer he was willing to trade me a 3 bay box for my two boxes. And I'd be left owing him $650. Don't really like that idea, I'm trying to get him to knock that price down some more! Lol.
I'm a damn tightwad!

"jumping the gun" means you didn't wait long enough and made a bad choice.

this is clearly not the case. wish i had a nice tool box.

As a home owner..I'd love a nice box like Snappy or Matco.

Although I can't gripe about my $500 Homawk that I got at Costco. Been 13 years and so far it's holding up great and the drawers still roll nice. It would be a different justificiation if I used it every day.

Awesome box ED, sh1t just got serious LOL.
Thanks LOL

Well maybe I didnt use the term correctly lol, but technically I didnt wait long enough for it to go on sale and I just jumped on it. If I waited I could have saved a few hundred considering these things are not cheap.

I bought this so I could have a box to build up and use while Im at home, I out grew my Snap-On cart so I needed something bigger. Brought my Snap-On box to work and I have this one for home use for now. Once its time to move onto another shop where **** gets more serious this will be going with me.

This or go home! Lol

Lol, that's a nice box but who'd want a box that pretty much snaps together,
The welds are crappy and the overall quality isn't great.
You pay for what you get.
Quality can be expensive, probably why that box is only $1800 for the top and bottom with radio and speakers included.

Saw that one at lowes today, way too much money IMO, lol.

I have an older menards masterforce box from like 2010, went to menards today aswell and the new model is like 5 times better with the rollers and drawers and stuff, kinda made me mad haha. I will end up buying the top box for it as its only like 325 bucks for the 41in box.
