• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My new project

just wanted to be extreme. and to build something everyone would dig. the crazy thing is EVERYONE but GP forum loves it:th_laugh-lol3:

i think the reason you are seeing that is because most of us are performance oriented and that goes way beyond usable in a performance application. it does look great, i wont deny it. just isnt what id do. id rather see the car a few inches off the ground, big wheels or not.

I believe it...its a WBody.

Also...like I stated before...keep the 3800. If you want 11's get a transmission that can hold the power...get slicks and find someone who can tune...and turbo it.

why would you bother with a 5.3?

For the cost of the engine alone you could build a transmission and be halfway to a nice turbo kit.

You'd need to go turbo with the 5.3 to hit 11's which means again, transmission time.

So again, 3800 is cheaper.

true true sir. i found a stage 4 kit from intense racing that i like:th_thumbsup-wink:

if i cant pull it off with the m, my plan is to work a 5.3 in. ur not going to believe it but i found a 98 gtp w/o a motor for 500 bucks:th_thumbsup-wink: on craigslist
Just throwing this out for you to let it swirl in your head Mr Crazy Customizer, Rear Wheel Drive Conversion.... ya I just said it.... DO IT :th_laugh-lol2:

BTW Love the bike, Diggin the Avalanche, C5s rock but not too crazy on the wheels, and the Orange GP is just orange lol. I think for the GTP your painting, drop the wheels to 19s, get some good sticky tires for it, lower a little and go completely aggressive and make it run 11s. You can get some light weight 19s (ie rally/racing wheels) and stickies to hook up, but 20s will be hard to get really light, and they take away alot of potential if you want fast, plus IMO they are too big when lowered :th_thumbsup-wink:

just 2 pennies, no hate :D

10-4, i thank you. buuut, how low will it be w/o scraping

im your man when it comes to lowering. out of just springs you wont get that low and it's easy enough to run just about any wheel you want to (with a little fender work and the proper tire size).

however, if you want to go REALLY low you'll need to do some body work that a lot of people arent willing to do (cutting fenders, moving strut towers, running gratuitous amounts of camber, etc).

If you get to this point.... you've gone too far :th_nanana:

the only reason you'd have to run as much camber as shown above is if you're using wheels that are way too low of an offset. you can easily tuck something in the +40mm area whereas you're going to have to run skinnier tires and more camber the lower you go with your offset in order to clear the fenders.
