• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My new mandrel bent customized exhaust

it applies on all vehicles. exhaust acts the same way, regardless of the power adder. however, turbo cars benefit from bigger exhaust because of the amount of boost they produce, therefore producing a larger amount of exhaust gases. because of the more volume of exhaust, the car is able to keep velocity of the exhaust with bigger piping. in our cars, we do not produce enough boost to make a difference so 2.5" is more than enough for anyone wanting an aftermarket exhaust.

so a 3" exhaust on a blown 3800 does nothing but increase volume and potentially LOSE power.

i gained 3whp when i switched to my 3'' cat back... :th_winking:

I literally have the same setup you do except my muffs are Borla and my headers are zzp... only time my exhaust sounds bad is above 5k rpm :th_thumbsup-wink: ill vouch for this setup sounding as good as you can get our cars to sound though!!!

all lies.

you can gain or lose 5 whp based on 10* of temperature difference, so meh.

in other words:

Think of a large diameter straw versus a small diameter straw. When you drink from a large diameter straw, you get more of what you're drinking but it doesn't go very far inside of your mouth. A smaller diameter straw moves the liquid quicker and farther into your mouth.

What happens to exhaust gases as they cool down? As exhaust gases cool, they slow down. Think about what happens when the you are running and exhale slower. Takes you longer to catch your breath. Right?

Where in the exhaust system do the gases cool down and is it farther down the system as you increase rpm? Gases begin to cool almost immediately. Not by a significant amount and yes, it is always further down the exhaust system that they cool the most. A larger exhaust system (more surface area) will cool the gases more quickly.

Where is the pulse based exhaust scavenging concentrated at? The scavenging depends on the entire exhaust system (pipe diameter and length, header design, muffler design, back pressure, etc.).

there are several 500 +wheel HP cars with 2.5" exhaust sytems driving around
Z06,camaros,rustangs,T/As,Evos etc etc....

evo? the rest i can believe but not an evo.

from what i found, the fastest bonnies didnt do full 3in until the 11's. if thats the case i'll do a 3in dp on my new gtp with my own 2.5 single catback. would use my regal to compare when i get there but i plan on cammin the gtp.

Started a photobucket account for all you 'nay sayers' lol. Go to their website. Its listed as a public account. Search under KEVINDLITTLE. This should get you the pics and vids. Going to be on vacation for a few days so if I dont respond, just give me a few. And no I wasnt :th_liar:

First one's his vid, click it to play. I actually agree with him, sounds better than most exhausts I've heard on these cars!

^IMO Loose the Thrush decal, and route your rear plug wires UNDER your supercharger snout. Other than that, clean engine bay. :th_thumbsup-wink:
