• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My HIDs

no, not if you have a newer car, it will make horrendous noise if you do that.

you have to disconnect the DRL diode under the dash.

See the panel on the drivers side of the dash, pop that off, then look in and look for a decent sized aluminum heatsink. pull the plug on that thing and that will kill your DRL's.

what matt said

if your car is 2001 and newer (i believe) you're fuse box will make a terrible clicking noise when teh car is on and the fuse pulled out. Just undo that plug on that heatsink, and they will stay off during the day, and come on automatically when its dark out

But the auto on (at night) function will remain intact?

Thanks for all the help/pointers guys, you're studs.

Here the latest photo from the shop. Yesterday I went and dropped off the projectors and they let me plug one in really quick for a test. Man, it is SO much brighter than normal and I love the color. They said the car should be all done on Monday. I'm STOKED! :th_laugh-lol3:

I'm headed to pick up my car here in about an hour (it's been in the shop for three weeks!! :() Once I pick it up I'm going to disable to the DRL's and then wire up the halos and LED's.

Does anyone know how to make it so your low beams will stay on when you put your high beams on? I figured that'd make it so you didn't jack your ballasts if you needed to flash your brights for whatever reason.

you should be able to just turn the headlight switch to the first positon and that will just have the side markers and fogs on.

On mine I can do that but I do have 2000 tho

Ok. Thanks. Will try it out. I hope to get some black housings within the next month to fix my light output problems.
I cleaned the headlights inside and out and used some plastic cleaner on them, but they are getting quite hazy.

Awesome! Thanks so much guys, it all worked like a charm. Got everything wired up and it looks great. The headlights droop a little bit because of only having two mounting points so I might try the weather stripping thing to get them to point up just a tad more.

I tried unplugging the heat-sink today and removing the fuse. Worked fine when the car wasn't running. When I started up though it started clicking like crazy. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

put the fuse back in. just keep the DRL/heat sink unplugged. Your autolights will still work, but you won't have DRLs.

..promise it'll work.

yeah man, the fuse trick only works for very early models.

The DRL module is the solution to the newer models.

Cant use both at the same time though.

Wow. Those look amazing. Sometimes I wish I had an 03 grand Prix due to the fact that there is more modifications to that gen then the 04+.

Questions though:

I too have tried searching the forums for HID and nothing came up. So my question is this, I own a 2008 GP. I wanted to get the new projectors and HIDs but after reading about the projectors on this site and GPONA, makes me not want to get the projectors. Question is, to get the HIDs for the Prix with the stock housing, what would be the right size bulb for the HID, would I need any modifications to the bulb or housing. The temperature color i want is either 6000K or 8000K. Any good sites to purchase from?

Also, for the daytime running lights, is there a plug just like the older Prixs on a heatsync that you can pull to turn off the DRL but still keep the auto-on feature at night?

Thanks.
