My heater or (fan) screams at me.

I'm not sure what's wrong i guess. Do the fans just go bad or what? After a few minutes of driving i get this loud howl from the passenger area under the dash and i stop getting air.

If i turn it off and back on immediately it goes away but comes back in a few minutes. If i keep the fan speed lower, it does it do it as much but it still does it. If i have it cranked up, well that's not even possible, it just stops and howls at me.

I was hoping this is a common problem and i could fix it easily. I searched but got nothing...so wtf is making that annoying scream.

yeah bad bearings sounds right. mines squeals some times and sometimes goes away, mine was cause from water going through the fan

im not sure where the blower motor is on a camaro? on a grand prix its underneath the dash on the passenger side and i think theres three screws that hold it in thats it

i'm sure you are right, cuz thats where the sound is comin from...and yes i was referring to the grand prix. probably should of mentioned that but i usually try and stay on "grand prix" topic when i am here.

it's about -5 to 5 degrees here every day so i haven't really looked at what im dealing with, just trying to scope things out so when it gets warm i know what i am dealing with

thanks

I swapped out the blower motor. If anyone needs advice on how to change it, just ask me. It was rather easy. I took my time and it took me about a half hour to do.

Works perfect

Yeah it sounds like the bearings are making noise and seizing up the motor. Get a new one, that should solve your problem.

i have the same problem, should i replace the entire blower motor, or is there a way to grease the bearings...or just replace the bearings?

My 2007 GP Base does this but only when I'm going 60mph+ and having the A/C on or off doesn't matter. It howls just the same. Is there a specific solution to this noise? Or some specific things I can try to fix it?
