I work all over the Cleveland area, but mostly work downtown. Always park in the same lot and same spot. Not anymore.

GP got her windows busted in, all electronics disconnected (cut wires) and everything in compartments was strewn about the car. Nothing stolen, which is what pisses me off. I'm glad nothing was taken, but why the heck bust my windows and screw it all up? I had a $3k network switch in the trunk that they ripped out of the box and just threw it back in the trunk. TINY glass shards errrrrrrrrrrrwhere. You should see my hands from vacuuming it up. Seats were all jacked up and glass is embedded in the leather.

Sorry to hear man. Some people just don't have respect for other peoples stuff. It really doesn't make sense that they not steal anything so they must have just been out to ruin people's day. Too bad you weren't around to ruin theirs! (crowbar to the head would make them stop :th_winking:)
 
It's a busy part of the city and the lot is right out in the open, so I imagine they probably got spooked by someone walking by. Still just makes me mad.

Good side is it gave me a good chance to park her in the garage and do some winter maintenance since I can't drive it... I took the wife's car today and she borrowed her mother's car.
 
That sucks!!! Maybe they were going to steal the car, but for some reason aborted, and decided to "F" up the car since they could not take it?
It stilll runs and drives, right?
 


That's messed up. Why trash someone's car? Some people have no respect for other people's things..just because one man can afford something an one can't or chooses not to is not a valid reason. Sucks more especially because its during the holiday season. Hopefully you get everything fixed right away.

That sucks something fierce.. sorry to hear man.. they were probably looking to rob stuff you didn't have..I ran into this with my truck, in front of my shop!.. the blew out a window, ripped my driver seat off the floor to get my $300 subs out but left the $1000 d class amp and $1000 headunit..well atleast they didn't jack the car on you.. because then you'll find it wrecked and the insurance won't want to cover it all..
 
That sucks man. Downtown Cleveland, surprised there isn't jizz on the seats too. They say that's where all the bums moved when Giuliani cleaned up NYC.
 
Still runs and drives great - no problems... was just a really cold ride on the way home ;)

I'm thinkin they either got the wrong car (I found out another maroon 04+ GP got raped same day, close proximity to mine), or didn't find what they were hoping, or someone walked by or stopped them. I have dark tint, so they might have been expecting some high-end bumps, but I don't have anything special. I could tell they were going to attempt to get my DVD deck out, but gave up at the idea. The network switch is probably worth more than anything in/on the car, but they apparently didn't realize it. What blows my mind is that this must not have been done quickly because EVERYTHING was gone through... even the side pockets in my trunk. Everything taken out. It was as if cops were doing a drug bust on me.

Glass got replaced this morning - haven't seen it yet though. Have to get the tint re-done over the weekend... shop that did it feels bad, so they are doing it at cost which is really cool.

Go figure - I kinda liked Cleveland there for a minute. Now I have to make sure I park in attended/garaged lots that aren't too expensive (I expense my parking). When I called to make police report, dispatch said I would have to wait between 5-6 hours for an officer. Screw that... I'm not sitting in a dark lot with a trashed car in the middle of C-town.
 


I wouldn't say drug bust exactly. They take door panels off and peel up carpet and stuff. Happened to a kid that I used to go to high school with. Worst part was after they pulled panels off and stuff they didn't find anything and then he had to put it all back together. At least they are retinting for you!
 
Glad to hear it still runs and drives. LAst time I was in Clevland was a 3 day stay at the renisaunce hotel for company annual sales conference in 2005, BORING, and cold (snowing) listening to corporate babble, YUK!

This is true. That's why you NEVER give consent. Make them get a warrant or a k-9. They never pulled my panels off, just pretty much threw everything on the floor and made me take down my amp racks. Sorry bout your car, bro. It's not just inconvenient, it's violating. And you imagine every person that you see as the possible perp.
