My friends GTP is stuck in performance shift mode?

Hey my friend has a GTP thats stuck in performance shift mode lol ? I said id mention it on the forums i use for all my questions. It's been stuck in performance mode for about 3 weeks. The engine runs good no lag, except it shifts at 5,000 rpm all the time, it wont come out. Any ideas?
 


i dont get what you're saying, like it shifts at 5000 WOT and shifts normally otherwise? Or the car won't shift until it hits 5000 no matter what throttle input is? Also what year is his car?
 
If the light is always lit and you are sure it's in perf mode, then likely the wire from the switch has rubbed and grounded somewhere to cause this. I'd start looking in the console and test the switch first.
