Hi all.

Here's my first post and I guess I'll start it off with some pics of my '00 GT.

It was my dad's car before becoming mine, I've been into cars my whole life and I'm quite the enthusiast. Last month I dropped in a K&N CAI and fitted an SLP PowerFlo cat-back exhaust to it and so far I'm loving the results.

I've decided on getting some 18x8 Voxx MG3's to replace the stock wheels but I'm going to wait until I get the car lowered a couple inches. Other than that I'm looking at a SLP spoiler and sway bars for the near future, and my MSD ignition coils should be on their way soon!

Thanks for reading everyone. I'd love some advice or feedback on anything you guys think I should know about these Pontiacs!
 


Welcome welcome. There is plenty to do to these cars. We could have saved you money. The stock coils are best. Unless you were looking to change the color of your coils.

For starters, I would suggest AGAINST the MSD coil packs. Sure they are pretty, sure they "generate a better spark" but truthfully statistics show a high failure rate of them on our 3800 motors at high RPMS. Such things as over 5000 RPMS you lose spark and the car falls on its face and runs like shyte... happens about 80% of the time.

Send them back, use the stock ones. Paint them red if you want a theme.

Secondly car looks great, how many miles?

3rd being your first time on our forum, some simple things you may not notice but will come in handy.
- Search bar, top middle, look for the HourGlass symbol. Alot of people miss it because it is good at hide-&-seek.

Book mark these 3 threads, you will come back to them repeatedly or be directed back to them if you don't remember to use them. Read them over and over, they were written for a reason.

Sheffer put so much good info into his thread, I wonder why I didn't make the list?

There are a lot of how to's written up. Obviously searching in that section will get you some results. Based on popular opinion and my big ego, I'd suggest starting off by searching on my user name and the word "Ea sy" without the space.

Meanwhile, look around, do some reading. If I can suggest, always read new posts vs going section by section. It helps to round out your knowledge base vs zeroing in on just one section.

Learn it up..ask good questions and post like a madman. <~~~ see my post count, that's the count of a Postawhorus

You could always copy a previous one. Afterall...we keep them grouped in "intro" ps.. go look for the thread on HUD first and second designs. I told the guys, you'd chime in with relevant dealer like info.
 


Well if I may offer a suggestion.. I'm a student as well and I was able to locate a set of Bullitts for a decent price and they are what I have on my car now. I love them. Yes they are kind of overplayed on the GPs but I think that still look good.

They do look really nice, I agree. I like the idea of going for something that a lot of people haven't done before though.
I guess we'll see what happens, I'm not in too much of a rush to get rid of the stock 5-spoke wheels. I think they look great!
 
I think that torque stars are the best stock wheel for a GP. Mine were exactly like yours but then I ended up Plasti Dipping mine. Really wish mine would have had the polished ones when I got it though. lol

I've been wanting to plasti dip mine. I wish I had money to lower the car first though. :(
 
I'm considering going lower only because my springs in the rear are crap and it's sagging. My dad actually suggested I get new springs so I figure why not go lower? lol.
