My (dirty) ride

Hey, this is like my second post here and I thought I'd show you the car I currently have and am planning to customize through out this summer and so on. I'm only 15, 16 in less than a month, so money will probably be tight till I get a summer job. Yes I know my car is dirty but I live in a community that has gravel roads and the snow here is melting so the roads are a bit muddy.

1998 Grand Prix SE: mesh grille, 5900K halogen bulbs, xenon fog lights, 2% tint on rear windows and slight (not sure) tint on the driver and passenger side windows, tinted plates.

Sorry for the bad picture quality I'll get better pictures later.

you being just barely 16 coming up, i would suggest possibly not investing a ton of money into the car. use it for more important things.

otherwise, good luck with your adventure. youre going to spend more than the car is worth if you want to do any body work.

yeah i know i just plan to fix whats wrong with it now, rear suspension, front bumper, passenger side fender and some rust that's all my goal is to do for the summer

Ya it's your first car, don't spend any money on the body trust me. You go to high school right? You would not believe the amount of times I've been hit, door-dinged, etc in hs parking lots... luckily I owned a beater during hs so it didn't matter too much.

with that car.... i would save your money, just make it drive well, and leave it. save your money and get a GTP some day... not really worth putting money into an SE

x2...I bought my GTP the last couple months of high school...wish I woulda waited a couple months...I still have the dime sized ding the in the drivers side rear door to prove it:th_angry2:

The SE is a good first car but like everyone else says...don't pour your life savings into it. Save your money, get a GT/GTP...and keep the SE for a winter, bad weather car...and sure...you can still put a PCM, FWI, T-Stat and a bunch of crap in the SE...but I would just wait for a nice GT/GTP IMO...:D

On a side note when are you stepping up from the 98' to the x-7?
Never, I have a 98 that runs on a dm7 board and run 16 bps all under 5lbs
And yeah I think ill just keep it running good and if I do anything to it it will be a sub and a new deck bc I travel a lot in it, but thanks for your advice

Well I am glad to have another paintballer :)

yeah i probably will, and next year ill probably use it for my autos class and do stuff to it there just to try to do things to it like take the engine out and so on

and yeah paintball is pretty fun

dont listen to them... if you wanna mod it, mod it. everyone told me not to modify my 97 SE about 5 years ago... and i didnt listen... 170,XXX miles she still runs strong and looks alot better...

its old and out of date but you can check my cardomain (see signature) and get some ideas...

If i was going to do it all over again...I would have kept my GT stock as a daily and saved to get a 97-04 GS with alot lower miles then mod it.
