My Differential Exploded! Carnage Inside

Abrasive

I say it with pictures
Yep, as the title states, my differential exploded. Luckily, it was on the riding mower tonight and not the GTP. Still bad enough because now we'll have to push mow this freakin' big ass yard.

Anyway, anyone wants a project, this mower is (was) a great mower. If anything, it's got a great running 14hp engine you could use for a go-cart or something. $100 and you can come drag it out of the yard.

Gas to mow yard on riding lawn mower-$8.00
Price to fix a riding lawn mower differential-$187.00
Watching Jay mow an acre of grass with a push mower-...yea u guessed it-priceless

meh. get some duct tape and some jb weld, and it will be good as new.

heh...

id suspect that you might be able to snag a used one of ebay, perhaps. just need to match up the gears/range, the rest are pretty much the same from the MTD line. maybe need to change drive pulley, but thats about it.

you know....same principal as the 03-04 cobra guys. When you have wheel hop...your suppose to get out of it. I wonder what that thing would have done if you finished th quarter mile?

Should have installed a diff squirter, or a limited slip diff ROFLMAO

I wonder how that 14hp motor would work on my push mower. Add a little nitrous for the really thick grass.

MTD :th_scratchhead:

Doesn't that stand for................

My Tractor is Dead? (I couldn't use Riding Lawn Mower :p)

:th_lipssealed2:

But it sure as heck gives that thing a nice lowered look :th_tongue2:

When we got our lawn mower Dave had to make it faster. I call it the Tim Allen Mower. Dave just can't leave anything stock LOL :th_laugh-lol2:

Not to hijack the thread, but that was something I very much liked about my Fiero and my sisters MR2. The whole mid-engine concept is awesome. Ive equated it before to front wheel drive only in the rear. Both cars were just SUPER stable. Well the Fiero had an issue with wet roads but thats another story.
