my 97 gt isnt looking too good lol ive got a key scratch along an entire side, faded clear, and the paint by the wheel wells just looks bad. I know everybody is going to advise against maaco but thats whats gonna happen because its not worth spending a lot on and i just want something that will look better than it does now for another year or two. they said for 600 they would scuff, prime, and paint it with a one year warranty. i dont know too much about prepping a car for paint but im wondering if i prep the car myself would going for like the 350-400 job be any worse? the only reason i dont wanna prep myself is because i get no warranty but it needs more work than i want to pay for lol, i know im getting what i pay for i just need a decent job since im still in high school, any opinions or tips on prepping? thanks

go onto you tube and look up paint repair and restoration its really easy easy but dont cheap out on tools you need proper buffing pads and compounds and all that but that said it should come in way under 600 bucks and its sooo easy just takes time and patience

Just have them prep it so at least you get some type of warranty. You trying to cut cost and do it yourself your going to spend money on materials. If you can afford $450 you can save and earn another $150 and let them get their hands dirty.
