Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My car is making bad noises!!!!

Ok i got the cover off, the first bolt that i can see looks to be fine no cracks, i put the car in neutral because i couldnt really turn it in park, and it still wont turn in neutral, it only moves back and fourth alittle and im using a big flat head, should i try quick starts to move the flexplate ? and i tryed moving it side to side and it seems tight soo far idk.

well i decided to just try quick starts to move the flexplate and there is no cracks anywhere on the flexplate and it isn't loose. Soo what should i do now ? change the oil to look for excessive metal shavings ? or maybe pull the front valve cover to look for any signs of damage ???

Also could i take off the supercharger belt and start it up to see if it still makes the noise or not would that work ?

It's not the supercharger, i took off the belt and its still making the noise.

well i checked the oil dipstick and the tranny dip stick, the fluid levels are fine, and no metal shavings, after shutting off the car when i checked to see what it would do without the supercharger belt i went inside and came back out to pull the front 3 plugs, i noticed it was puking out oil, the oil sprayed everywhere on the passenger side prob the belt caused the spray, i didnt find any holes and i found that the oil came from the oil filter, the gasket got blown on or something. im done, im gonna put the car away, bring on my blazer, save my money and get a low mileage motor for the gtp.

idk, i need to get some oil and a filter, i couldnt find the cause of the problem. the flexplate looks fine, the supercharger isnt the cause of the noise, there's no metal shavings in the engine oil, or on the tranny dipstick, the front spark plugs look to be in good condition.

it is still doing it, and i just added 5 quarts of fresh oil and a brand new ac delco oil filter, i put oil around the oil filter gasket and i tighten it nice and tight and this is what happens to the gasket

I'm gonna save my money for a new motor.

there was something about this awhile back has to do with the oil pressure bypass or something the spring behind the oil filter housing

i wonder why the pressure is soo high, maybe has something to do with the noise, but i'm done with this motor, time to save for a lower mileage motor.

soo my plans are to get a decently low mileage motor and i'm thinking about buying a cam and having that installed since the motor isnt in any vehicle soo it wouldnt be hard to put in. which cam should i get ? i'm looking at the xp hot cam and the vs cam ?

way too many differences between different cams to tell you what you want. what do you want out of the car?

Not looking to do head work, i'll be using it as a DD, low 13's and i would be verry happy. I plan on intercooling and getting headers next spring.

That's the cam i was leaning more towards bio good. Hey when i pull that motor i will tear it down and get some pics when i found the problem to that damn noise!

Have you tried swapping back to your stock PCM? I'd be curious to see the BIN file on that Overkill unit.
Unfortunately, I think the damage is done, if the flexplate is ok - then you have a bearing issue. The mere fact that you're blowing the oil filter seal out is proof enough of that. I would hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to it and see what it's idling at, but I think Bio is right - it would make sense that your oil pressure relief (bypass) valve is not working.

I'm gonna tear the motor apart swash once i get it out of the car. Right now i'm looking for a low mileage motor and im just gonna put performance parts into it before i put the motor back in, i want to put in a cam prob vs, i was thinking about the Meziere Electric Water Pump and prob zzp alternator pulley or zzp waterpump pulley but idk. also i'll get a ported s/c and paint the valve covers.

electric water pump: has the ability to fail, just replace the stock pump.

alternator/water pump underdrive pulleys: you dont want to underdrive either of these things.

yea that was me... never could figure it out... bought new/used motor...ran great for a week... on the way home one day oil filter gasket blew out a mile down the road from my house under normal driving conditions... motor completely ****ed.. luckily had warranty :)
