First off.... my brakes went out. I need a new brake line to the right rear tire. About $300

I'm told the oil pan is rusting and very thin.. dealer said they can put their finger through thbe pan..then they will replace the gasket and the oil level sensor... about $900

I need both lower and upper control arms.. about $600

Then a tune up.. plugs and ires.. then I want to replace both o2 sensors.. about $600

Oh well.. it will be like new

They are dealer prices... I left there and brought it to my trusted mechanic.. I just went to the dealer to get my oil change.. $32.00.. I wanted to bring it to the dealer to have another set of eyes look at the car. You never know what they see

And would you believe the brakes went out after I pulled in the drive for the oil changed... leaked brake fluid all over thbe floor

What are upper control arms?

I have McPherson struts on my car.

Don't bother replacing the rear O2 unless its throwing a code.... and you know its the sensor, not the wiring.

Maybe... but I kinda of thought the breaks were acting up. Plus there was a trailof fluid on the floor

I thought replacing the rearO2 senor was agood thing? Increase gs mileage

brake tubing and tubing bender 30 to 40 bucks, clean the oil pan and paint it with por, its a band aid but it will make it last longer, lower control arms are 60 a side and takes 3 bolts to remove each side, tune up 60 bucks tops.

unless you are rich, you need to get to work here and save all that money.

The rear is by the catalytic converter? Ok ll get the front replaced..

Any of you guys want to come ove and fix it ?

60 for the arm and that comes with bushings? How would I really know that they need to be replaced? The car seems to handle fine

your going to have to get under the front end and look to see if the bushings are cracked mushed up or pieces are missing, then you take a large screw driver or pry bar and try to move the arms, see if the bushing have any play in them, and listen for knocking around while driving when you hit rough pavement.

dealers suck and like to replace stuff just because sometimes, so you may not need new lca's at all, but you wont know till you look at them.

I do hear a ping when I go up a bump real hard. Anyone have any how to on replacing the control arms and bushings

You could buy all those parts, pay for the tow from Chicago to CT and have me do the work for less than they are telling you.

Seek a second or third opinion.

Ok.. finally got my estimate from my mechanic
Oilpan,gasket and level sensor. $500.00

Replace both brake lines to rear of car. $275

Plugs and wire $215

Front o2 sensor $136

Ill wait on the control arms...

Should I do anything else?
