Well this pump swap has ended up being a REAL pita.

I was under the impression I had a Venturi style pump like other 97s. I agreed to buy a Racetronix Venturi pump. Got a good deal on it. All was good. Then I pull my pump and find out, its a NON Venturi pump. When it was replaced by the previous owners they must have done a cheap auto zone crappy pump.

Then I found the kicker... They ALSO changed the plug on the top of the pump. So my rewire I bought won't even work...

But the guy I am getting the pump from is going to help me make it work with my canister. Now I just gotta figure out the pin out on this fuel pump plug so I can make my own rewire.

dude.... just get a venturi canister. seriously. try and source a 97 venturi if you can, it kinda like superman(97 style) vs. batman.

fyi, there is a connector you will not use on the hotwire kit. the pressure sensor plug i believe.

source a stock connector, butt splice it in, preferably solder and heat shrink wrap it in. and plug the damn thing in bro. stop being a panzy.

greg may have a extra one, i sent him mine when i swapped mine out.

I might deal with all that at another time.. Right now I don't have the time to mess around with getting parts.

I think me and Zach got it all figured out last night.

New pump should be installed and rewired today sometime.

He showed me how he has done it in his cars(that have only one pump) and he showed me how to do the rewire so it will work...

hope it works. ive decided to go e85 and will be getting 65# injectors. would you want to buy my 42s?

Nah... I would BUT part of the reason in my choice of pumps is that i am going E85 soon myself.

nice! yeah, ive decided to scrap the meth kit. injectors are cheaper, and i still have to get a tune so either way it comes out cheaper.

If you look at the second picture in 1013, that was me attemping to flip off the camera man. This job was irritating. Ran into so many things that needed attention. And getting the pump back down requires two people and lots of lube on the o-ring. Not a one man job.

i installed mine by myself, along with routing the rewire kit from engine bay, under car and up through to the top of the tank.

but i had mine drop in ready from paul at PRJ. wasnt about to deal with leaking fuel intake tubing.
