• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My Apologies To Everyone

I wanted to stop in and let everyone know I was still alive and apologize for my extended absence.

We had a death in the family and the weeks leading up to that and since have been more or less touch and go and Ive not had much time to spend here and more or less little motivation to try and stay on top of things here. My priorities have been refocused a little as well to deal with the situation following the family death.

As well, on the brighter side of things, Im just a few hundred dollars from being completely debt free and that is freeing me up to do several things not the least of which is being able to do a bit more for my church, and also getting things together to put the GP back together which should start probably in a couple of weeks. I hope to have it ready by the time Branson gets here but Im playing that one by ear right now.

In addition we are starting forward on buying a house and if all goes as I have planned and projected, I'll have that paid off in 10 years or less but will be the only debt that I have. Interest rates are just too low and with the $8k first time buyer tax credit from the stimulus package its just too good to pass up right now

I probably wont be on the site as much as I used to be as I really want to focus more on things I have not been able to due to financial restrictions. I have missed greatly being able to help people out and use my tallents in the church simply because I was not able to financially back things I wanted to do and now that I can I plan on spending more time doing so. We'll see how all that goes and what time I have to spend on here.

I know several of you have PM'd me during my absence and quite frankly and with all due respect Im not even going to try and catch up on the PM's so if you sent me something and it needs attention or was important, please resend your PM and I'll do what I can.

At any rate, I just wanted to let everyone know I was still kicking. A few of you contacted me off-board to see if everything was okay while all this was going on and I wanted to say thank you for doing so.

No problem Scotty. I'm looking foward to seeing more of you now. If you need anything remember we are here for you. Were a community. Remember that!

Sorry to hear of you and your families loss Scotty, I hope everyone is doing ok and I know hard it is on everyone to deal with sometimes. Dont feel bad about not being on here as much as you used to or can be down the road, there is definately more to life than the internet and if you have things to do then by all means go enjoy doing it!

Well I am sorry about your loss, the little time you spend on here I am sure is enough (that might sound bad but I don't know how to word it right)

I am glad that you are almost debt free, that is a great feeling when you achieve it :) and good luck on your house searching.

Sorry for you and your families loss. All will be in my thoughts and prayers. Happy to see your almost dept free and working on getting a house. Glad your OK.

Scotty,

I to must appologize to the community as I too have been off the forum for some time. I understand what you are going through as Sheryl and I also had a death in the family a couple of weeks ago when her step dad passed away.

I have been working very hard at getting custody of my son who lives in Canada with my Ex-wife who wants me to send money and never see my son. While this takes up alot of my time, I am getting on here when I can. With any luck all of this custody stuff will be behind me in June and you all will get to meet my son at BGPM.

Work is also going crazy with them cutting headcount so the need to go the extra mile has come into play and it looks like I will be the only one that is promoted in the near future, but that too has come at a cost of my personal time.

While none of this is anyones concern and I am certainly not trying to place the blame anywhere other than myself, I want you all to know that while I may be tied up, this forum and all its members are thought of every time I get in the GTP to head to Canada or to work. Prayers are more than welcome for Scotty and I both, and I assure you, when things start getting cleared off the plate, we will both be back strong on the forum and the community.

Thanks

Chris (webracin)

You and your wife will also be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope for the best with you and your son and also your job. You and Scotty have to look out for yourselves and your family first. Everything will be fine here. Even if I have to keep everyone in line myself.lol!!!!!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and condolences, it is very much appreciated. Chris, if there is anything I can do for you and Sheryl please let me know.

I know this; When I come to Branson this year, Im definitely going to have a few things to say about finances and hopefully be able to share some of my experiences to those willing to listen or wanting to hear.

If I had more time to take advantage of how the economy is right now with interest rates and so forth, I would not even take out a loan for a house, I would just pay cash but I dont think this is going to last, at least the interest rates being as low as they are and you have to buy before the end of the year to take advantage of the stimulus package first time buyer tax deduction.

I dont want the debt of a mortgage, but of all the debt I could have, a mortgage is more acceptible to me than anything. Even so, I have worked out the financials to have the 15 year mortgage loan paid off in 9 years or less. In fact if I were to throw the rebate and my next years bonus towards the principal I could cut to about 7 years.

After having to deal with some of the people I have in my pursuit of being debt free I have become a bit fanatical about staying that way and that has been further cemented by seeing how much we can dump into savings and so forth as a result.

Anyway, I'll be ready for Branson. Im making it a mission in my life to let others know what a life awaits them if they take on the pursuit of being debt free as well.

Scotty & Chris - Im sorry to hear about your losses. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families. My wife and I are also looking into buying our first house esp. with the $8000 tax credit, so I know where your comming from.

Chris we are both sorry to hear about your loss and send our thoughts and prayers your way too. I know were putting up with a lot last year and prior with your Ex so hopefully everything goes in your favor and all the headaches will be behind you!

Yeah, Im sorry I missed it but with all that has been going on the timing was not good. The wife is struggling a bit still and it did not seem right to leave her hear by herself, even though she is working, I would just feel like a heel if she needed me here and I wasnt available to help out.
