My fuel rails drive me insane LOL. Basically everything under the hood looks SO plain, I can't wait to tear it apart and powdercoat some stuff.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

WELL.... After a couple tries... It came out good enough. Had some wax residue on both the first time, and the paint "spead" around the area a bit, so I had to strip them both.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

I have two cans of that stuff, was thinking of doing that to hide my de lamination. What process did you use/# coats/ wet sand?

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

It hid my delamination great, you can hardly see it through the paint. Wipe them down with acetone (they'll get white residue on them, wipe that off the best you can) and then did one fairly heavy coat.... Waited about an hour, and did another. Its kind of tricky getting a good line while painting, I found it was easiest to spray short ways (instead of fewer passes, but longer ones) and then finish the edges. I did two coats, it was a bit much IMO. I rubbed quite a bit off with wax and they're just a tad lighter now.

Then, after they've dried, take some carnauba style wax and rub dem suckas until you like the finish.... It gets rid of the orange peel quick. I suppose you could do 3 coats and wet sand/wax. But I don't see a point to when you can get great results without a clear coat or wet sanding.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

Otay.

Put in a Pioneer DEH-15ub head unit last night. Easy peasy. Mount sucked. I ended up using the main "box" and then just made my own side mounts, thing was total garbage, as expected for $13. I just don't care enough at this moment to spend $70 on a flush mount. Also, sometimes the music kind of fades out, and comes back in... Any ideas on why?

Lights. My fogs have never worked, just like my high beams. Can click the dial in all 3 positions, nothing changes. Weird.

i also saw this yesterday. It made me want to go low, like right nao, super sexy GTP. It made me feel weird driving around a ToysRus parking lot, taking pictures of this GP..... But whatever.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

For a second there I thought that was Dans car, then I noticed it is a 2 door and not a 4 door.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

Washed it tonight.... And waxed half of it. I lost interest in waxing the other side. Nobody will ever know unless they walk around it. Yay.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

Brown truck dropped off the front struts today. The beginning of coilovers :D

Basically planning on collecting parts until spring, then e85, low, etc.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

Car is filthy. Not worth washing anything right now, since it's beet season, every road is covered with mud.

i love the 40th tips. They're not on for good yet, maybe tomorrow. I added about 1/2" of pipe to the tips after this pic, just so they stick out a bit further.

Also, I finished shaving the deck lid key hole... Ready for paint.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

Very nice work. Tips look great. Get some Reflective Gold Inlays from Reflective Concepts for the letters on the bumper and it will set that azz off just right.

Re: My '99 Grand Prix

So uh.

was driving down the road today and "SES" light just came on. Now it sounds like rocks tumbling in the SC, bad coupling wouldn't cause the light to come on would it?
