Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

Oh man, if it were mine, 100% gold BBS. I've seen a few murdered out STI's, and they look ok, gold bbs wheels are just moar ballin.

a friend at work has a black 05 STI and has black wheels on it (the stock BBS and some 18s for the summer). i dont like it. makes me think of how much better it would look with just about any other colored wheels on it.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

i love that crimson red in pic above, with som bronze/gold accenting omg motorboat.

congrats man, glad to hear your happy with it. and kudos for finding a stock one, alot of people would have been tempted to hop into a modded one, and theres no shortage of those lol im sure.

ps accesport is the sh!t, you can get that vallet mode and a bunch of other sick ass stuff.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

accessports....lol

buy a tactrix cable and you can tune your car for free. EcuFlash and RomRaider are both free programs to download. you can find people's tunes (including the stage 1 and 2 maps) online all over the place. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE $700 ON AN ACCESSPORT THAT DOES NOT TUNE OR LOG.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

Are the programs you mentioned just like tuning software or is it just an interface?

I'll definitely look into a tactrix cable, I've never heard of one but if it gives me more room with tuning than an accessport does then it's worth looking into.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

looks clean, It just needs the regular wrx wing ;)

WRX wings on STi's make me a sad panda. The WRX wing looks great, it's clean and subtle, Wingless trunk is even cleaner. That being said, the point of a STi is not to be subtle, haha.

the tuning software is similar to things youve seen in the GM worls (hptuners) except it is straight up free. ECUFlash is mainly for subaru and mitsubishi, so we got lucky on that aspect.

the cable to hook up to the OBDII port is really the only thing you need to buy. then it is all about researching and seat time. go on NASIOC and into the 'open source' tuning section. that will lead you to everything you need to know about getting started at least.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

Nice car. There are two wrx's around here that I know of. I don't think either of them is an STI though. One of them has a bunch of mods though. Bigger turbo, exhaust, intercooler, etc. There is also a forester about 15 mins from my house that has a full roll cage. Haha.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

Myself, a good friend and his girlfriend all went down to go get it (My girlfriend bailed last minute). We took my mom's Vibe GT 6M down and I drove the STi back and my friend Matt drove the Vibe. We all made it back safely.

I'll get good pictures of it up sometime in the next few days. Matt has a few rolling shots as well.

Everything went perfectly. The car is much cleaner than I expected it to be, the maintenance records the guy kept are impressive and thorough (I have a copy of them), and you can just tell he was really anal about taking care of the car. Everything is well sorted. The search paid off, this car is a gem. I kinda wish I had more time and more distance to drive than 450 miles, but I'm glad to have it back home as well.

It runs great and it's really fun to drive. We took a little detour from the interstates and spent some time on a windy, hilly country road. Best decision ever, Matt made that call.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi

Ask and you shall receive.

My spring break starts the 16th (Only have classes tuesday and thursday, thursday's classes are cancelled) so I'll be doing a full detail on the car then. Expect some good pics. By the way I may have been confused on the color of my car. I thought it was Java Black Pearl but looking at other pictures it looks more like Obsidian Black Pearl? Bio do you know the difference? The flake in mine is almost blueish?

Here's a few shots from yesterday:
