My 2000 grand Prix GT: Finally getting around to doing stuff with it

I have heard the 3M works good, I tried one from I believe it was turtle wax and well didn't do much of anything. I will have to give the 3M a shot.
 


Look at my before and after pictures in my thread of my headlights I did with the 3M kit. Just take your time, use a chair or stool and enjoy the change from foggy to clear. Now if I had it my way, yes there would be new headlights on.
 
Wow! I dont think there really is any other word for how good that stuff seems to work. Seriously looks like you just went and bought all new dang near. Yeah definitely a pit stop tomorrow after smogging and tag getting tomorrow.

I will be able to see at night when i drive dang it! LOL

Take your time though, cause when using this kit and a drill the sandpaper disc can get clogged and put plastic back on the lens so check the disc after each pass. When you get to the wet sand phase make sure to take 3-4 passes. On the polish phase just use a dime size of product cause that sh1t will sling everywhere. Oh and on the wet sand phase use a spray bottle with one drop of dish soap, it helps with the buffing. I have done 18 sets of headlights and had awesome results every time with the kit.
 


lol, there are some things I will upgrade if you will when they get replaced, there are others im ok with just the norm if you will. But struts are getting to the need to be replaced soon and I want it low so it works out lol

I just cant wait for the tax return to come lol
 
Or you could just go to hardware store and get a sheet of 400,600,800,1000,2000 and spend less then $5 then have at it. The compound and polish. The hype of those headlight kits are ridiculous.

Red is right, when I did those Jeep headlights, I had to get extra sheets of sandpaper cause of the size. Either way the main thing is getting them clear for cheaper than New headlights at the current time.
If you can't tell by my progress thread, I like doing things the cheapest way possible.
 


Those headlights were free btw lol some random Asian guy just have them to my buddy at the junkyard. He owns a civic but already restored his headlights for him. So I did this set took 30 mins and he sold then on eBay and we split the profit = winning.
 
Yeah I like doing things the cheapest way possible as well texas lol.

Oh thanks red I will see about possibly doing that instead of the 3M.

Is it just the sand paper? if compound and polish as well what should I look for?
 


^ yup then make sure you seal them are expect them to be yellowed again within the week. I use a sealant let it cure for 24 hours then install and wax them when I wax the car.
