My '05 V - Summer mode engaged

Re: My '05 V

agreed. the first 4-5 hours were running through the mountains, twisting around corners well over the posted warning signs. it most definitely was not good for fuel economy.

we hit the road in north carolina at 2:00ish milwaukee time and i parked it in the garage at about 4:15 in the morning sunday. long ass day.

Re: My '05 V

silly boy you dont know long drive try comming down form alaska. at night i hit 100+ just cuz i could lol your so silly

I couldn't get pulled over. I was driving a car I didn't own with plates that weren't registered to a car. So, I justifiably was driving a normal pace.

Re: My '05 V

Pretty sure you're allowed to drive it home for up to 3 days after purchasing it w/o insurance or tags.

Congrats on the ride, finally a respectable engine in one of your rides.

i had insurance on it and i had a signed/notarized bill of sale as well as all the paperwork for the loan process and all.

however, i did not have the title. he has to pay off the lien holder before i can get the title and register it in my name. this is why i was running a plate from my subaru, that aren't connected to a car anymore.

so realistically i drove it home illegally, but we were just driving normally so we wouldn't get pulled over. it's going to sit in my parents garage until i can get it registered and then i'll take it back home with me.

Re: My '05 V

future plans with no date, that will potentially not happen until i get another car to DD:

- full borla catback
- long tube headers (kooks, probably)
- lower it (H&R springs, probably)
- summer wheels of some form
- heads/cam (literally won't happen until i don't need to drive it everyday...and i'll be doing a big rumbly cam)
- LS9 clutch and single mass flywheel

for at least this year i plan on doing nothing, but just driving it and getting used to it as a car. the only thing i'll change before next year is putting winter tires on the stock wheels and looking around for some nicer wheels to run in the spring/summer/fall so i don't have to swap tires on the stock wheels all the time.

Re: My '05 V

good. although i haven't figured out how to properly drive this car yet, i need more seat time. the clutch grabs way higher than my subaru that basically grabbed right off the floor and the shifter is really notchy and the gates are hard to push through. i just need to drive it more so i can get used to it.

and probably find a heavier, weighted shift knob.
