the stock shifter is terrible, it would also help your shifts a tremendous amount is if you got an after market clutch master cylinder. I just bought a JHP billet pro, i haven't got a chance to install it yet, so i couldn't tell you how sexy it is. You have to use loctite on the bolts on a gmm ripshift, they come loose.

Na man, i got the billet pro. Ls7 clutch is what im planning on getting, there has been guys on the form running 600+ without problems on stock ls7 clutch. The other weak point in these cars is the clutch master cylinder, not enough line pressure to fully engage the clutch, alot of guys get the tickperformance one.

my nephew had a 89 that was stock and he put a 150 wet shot on it and it ran a constant 12.5 in the qtr. they can be fast with the right mods.
