Twin turbo setups are made in different sizes becasue the small one spools the larger one...sequential setups.
basically twin turbos are good for off the line punch but lack top end duration for the most part.one big turbo may lack off the line punch(lag) but has superb top end and thats what wins races, top end.
Ok i agree with you on the 60ft and traction, but you can have awesome 60fts all day and your low end torque will serve you well until the last half of the track then you crash, like our cars(stock).thats what i mean by having good top end it helps a lot. And what i said about turbos was "FOR THE MOST PART".This...is very flawed.
I'll let you read it again.
But I'll point out a couple things...
Twin turbos are also used on very high horsepower diesels...like I stated...one smaller one spools the larger...they server a purpose. Also, unless it is over worked...no turbo really "lacks" top end.
To end...top end doesn't win races...that is the last thing you think about when drag racing. You want 60 foots...traction...correct gearing...so many factors. Your not out to get the highest trap speed...and if you are, your doing it wrong.
