• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Issue #1
Lately my car has not been running at its best, When I start the car it seems to have problems idling, idling surges between 600 to 1500 RPM.
I do have an "Check Engine" light on, I plugged in my OBD-II Scan Tool, And came up with the following code (P0102 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input). Also while doing about 100KMph and i let go of the gas the RPM bouces between 1000 and 2500.

Issue #2
While going down hill I have a habit of shifting my car into neutral, But if I stop at the bottom of that hill due to a stop or intersection and my car is still in neutral, The car RPM bounces between 500 and 2000 and sometimes it even stalls.

Issue #3
My coolant light has been on for quite a while now, but when I check the coolant it seem to be topped up, Maybe a sensor ?

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem, took forever to find it it turned out to be a short in the positive battery terminal, hope this helps

1 and 2 are related. As well...I'd like to suggest not shifting the car in/out for coasting. The torque converter will allow you to coast almost as well. My reasoning is the forward band in the trans is known for breaking. When you go from N to D that engages the forward band, in out in out in out... is releasing, engaging constantly. Doing this you have a better chance of breaking the band. When you break the band, you find out, it's the second piece put into the trans case and a full rebuild or different trans is costly.

3 is likely a sensor. Are you checking the overflow or radiator?

I didn't say that it would break it. I said it actuates and releases the forward band. A band that is known to be kinda common to break. Take a round piece of metal and press on it to make it smaller, release, press, release, press... you get the idea. That's what we do inside our transmissions. This band gets compressed to hold the drum inside of it. If you shift in and out of D/N for the hell of it, you are adding extra times for basically no value.

Kinda like downshifting a standard shift in order to slow down. A mechanic buddy summed it up well one day. Clutch is getting work instead of brakes, right? Yup.. Ok clutch costs much more than brakes and is much tougher to swap out than brakes. That was the day I stopped downshifting my standard shift car.
