MPS Vent Screw Question

Ok, I installed my hub on the snout along with my pulley. It's on as far as it will go (using the zzp puller/installer) but the vent screw will not go in the end now. The MPS came with a lil black push in deal, is that was I use? Surely not, it just slides in and falls out... I'm not suppose to leave the screw out I know.

yeah this one from intense came with that.. Looks like a trim panel push pin thing (see pic, spider NOT included), problem is it slides right in the hole with NO resistance at all and will fall right out. If that's all I need, I'll go to the parts store in the help isle and find one that will fit..

Those push in things never worked for me . My snout leaked oil with it . What I did was that little black screw that goes into the end of the about from the puller kit I put rtv on it and screwed it in and tightened it . Leak free solution

Yeah the breather thing gets maybe 3 threads deep, not working... and I wouldn't think those plastic push pins would hold back anything, I mean I know there's no pressure built up, but fluid level about there... ehh...

I like the idea of the threaded part of the puller... Put some thread sealant on it and leave it in there, or some other type of screw from ACE hardware... Might looks at the allen head screws at ACE next time I am there. Pick one up and try that.

Exactly what I did, I went to ACE hardware and found a bolt with the exact same threads, cut the head off and screwed it into the end of the snout.

The main reason I bought one is because my puller kit was missing that threaded stud for swapping the pulleys, so afterwards I knew it would leak with the dinky plastic clip, so I just used that bolt.

Only early model grand prixs came with the breather stone / bolt. It was completely unnessary and gm just used plastic plugs from then on. Even my genV blower from a 2006 GP came with a plastic push in plug. My guess is intense sent the wrong size. Iv got 3 blowers with zzp supplied plugs in them and they all have zero issues with leaks or anything else. In fact when checking the oil level of the blower I usually hear a slight hiss of pressure release which tells me that little plug must be indeed sealing pretty darn well.

Uhmmm all Gen 3 and Gen V came with the plug. If you got some w/o ...were they used?

Intense and ZZP send the same plugs.

Yeah I figured they all had plugs. I have heard of the plugs, but ehh... Will screwing in a bold hurt it or does it need to vent? I assume it does need to, but how much pressure builds up? Enough to warrent using a plug or what's the best to use? I found an allen head bolt, M6x1.25 about an inch long that I put thread sealant on and screwed it into the hole at the moment.
