u don't need to port a gen v, the gains aren't worth it.

so youre saying ported genIII blower != ported genV blower.

good work, but a ported genV blower is...well, awesome. deal with it. port it or dont, but youre losing out on power if you dont do your own work.

hahahahahaha! nice. if you could explain, how exactly should i port the supercharger? with a dremel? and then to put on a gen V you also need to port the manifold to match right?
 
someone shed some light then. I have asked a few reputable members on porting a genV. They all said its not worth it, and there is nothing to really improve, since its so efficient.

The MP112 with proper length snout from Magnuson requires a custom I/C plate that ZZP was making for Intense (gasp) about 6yrs ago, probably 5-10 kits were made total (basically like a stage 2 top plate with extra bolt pattern for MP112 outlet). Also requires a custom TB adapter for the Magnuson inlet, the standard one that I'm using used a modded LS1 TB (not optimal, though). There's a few more tips/tricks, but since nobody will be pony'ing up the coin for one, it's not worth typing another 2-3 paragraphs. (The TVS MP1900 from Magnuson would be done the exact same way, though... *hint* *hint*)

The Ford M112 is the original casting from Eaton, and is very long to cover the entire intake manifold of the V8 Cobra engine. The hybrids for M90's to use on 3800's just borrow the roots and stuff them in an M90 case with an adapter. Without utilizing all of the extra outlet gain, due to mounting limitations, I don't know if it's worth the trouble/cost.

I got the MP112 setup from a buddy's demod, because he no longer wanted to chase all the broken tranny parts and so on, and donated it for my upcoming RWD build (chassis TBD). Otherwise, I've still got my GenV setup stowed away to go back on my DD GTP, when the other vehicle is ready for the 112 with a much bigger heads/cam setup.

thats what reptile said. i havent really seen anything benifical from porting a gen V.
 


Dropping pulley size makes it whine louder, usually accompanied by additional supporting mods to do so. The slight improvement of surface finish on the inlet, and removing a wall between the outlet & BBV has essentially no effect in the percent difference of sound changing.

Very few do much porting on GenV's, since the outlet design is essentially how you make a ported Gen3 when that's done. Nothing wrong with touching them up a little, or knocking out the wall for an I/C to see more of the outlet. It's just not work that's held people back from hitting the same numbers with or without that work (basically more for signature glory, which many aspire to gain lately).

Nope. Dropping pulley size might make the blower louder, but only at WOT. Porting the outlet OR sealing up the silencing slits make the blower WAY louder at idle and a little more at WOT. Don't see how you think that it doesn't. I've got video's to prove it...just gotta dig them up if you'd like to compare.
