Motor swap

I have a 1997 gp gt and i found this ad on craigslist..

3800 supercharged

if its as good as it sounds then awesome... but even if not i could probably part it out for more than i buy it for. My question is.. what all am i looking into? It says his wire harness is cut, and mine wouldnt work right? he doesnt have the pcm so i just imagine i need one and get it tuned, and i know the 97 year used a different type of tranny control... vacum controled i believe? is there major work needed to change that? any help is greatly appreciated
thanks!

your wiring harness would work, the tranny is all electronic i believe in 97 also. just get a stocker gtp computer and throw that motor in there, you just need to add a few wires, nothing major and you will have a gtp powertrain.

The 97 GT (GTP was electronic, GT was not) still used a vacuum modulated trans, so it's gonna be a PITA to make everything work together right unless you swap everything, trans, engine, computer, and wiring.

this guy has it. i would do a motor and transmission and everything on a 97 GT.

so to get this straight... if i bought the motor and trans from this guy... i would need to find the matching wiring harness... which morad would probably have i assume? and then a stock gtp pcm or can i have mine tuned? then that would be everything? option two... if i bought this package... pretty much everything i would need excluding gaskets would be right there for a top swap.. correct? and would i have any tans issues (since mine is vacuum control) with the top swap idea?
thanks again for all the help

A top-swap utilizes the entire top of a L67, on the L36 bottom end.

higher compression and boost ftw
