Motor swap - Options

but with a topswap set up with headers and a good tune so its not knocking and runing decent timing it would rape the N/A set up :D
 


i agree exhaust would be needed for a topswap. there is some on here that run a caned tune like overkill with there topswap with no issuies. but it needs to be set up for a top swap. minichoper keep chiping pistions because he is topswaped and run a tune for the regular supercharged motor with lower compresion.

the trans will be fine as long as you dont absolutly beat on it and do your regular oil changes. bio had a gt trans in his car for a while with the supercharged motor and alot of mods.

But finally killed his tranny...

TEP tranny would be a nice addition to any GP build.
 
after 130k+ with a 3.2 pulley.


im not saying the tep is not nice, but its not always needed. ive been driving the piss out of mine and now with over 100k its still pretty good.
 
130k miles on it in total. 113k is when i top swapped it. i pretty much ran a 3.4 setup the whole time. it only started getting bad after i tuned it to have really crisp shifts when i was WOT.

Good piece of info. Crisp shifts at WOT = dead tranny. :th_thumbsup-wink:
