do i ab solutly need the heads from the sc motor i understand the sc and intake but heads to ? didnt wana do extra work if i dont gota

ok i got all that forum wrote down to start tearing it apart i have a 98 regal gs with the sc 3800 and was planing to put a reg n/a 3800 in after i did the swap since the stock sc 3800 ws blown up but if u grab the puley and turn it back and forth the sc clickss like it has some play could the sc have gone out and caused the engine to mallfuntion to the preveus owner which i bought thew car already blown up

sounds like a coupler..
wouldnt cause the motor to blow up
my guess is the bottom end let go because of fauly LIM Gaskets

that slop in the sc pulley didnt do any thing to your engine, its the coupler thats gone bad, its a 40 dollar fix and takes about 30 minutes to fix.

well i am doing a top swap to a n/a 3800 and installing it into my regal that is suposed to be sc can u find or can u explain how to change or replace sc coupler and if i dont do it will the sc mallfunction

ive heard it will eventually, but either way it will get annoying cuz at idle youll hear what sounds like rocks rumbling around in your motor

and scotty put a link in your other thread

as long as you have to pull the engine and do a whole swap, it would be in your best interest to get headers and have them ready to go in when you put it all back together, and a get your pmc tuned before you even have the engine finished, (canned tune if you dont have someone local to tune it in car) so you can drive it right away with out to much worries.

I'd go speeddaddies for headers.
Do the coupler while it's out. Rollingperformance.com (instructions, parts, all you can need)
You can put an SC on a car w/o doing the heads. It's called the SSM90 kit from ZZP $1300

do the headers that u suggested bolt directly to the stock down tube? that would be great and save tons of time oh and the stupid yard where i am to get my motor is slacking and havent even pulled it from the other vehicle should i go find a dif place to get my motor?

replace as in they bolt right to the stock then it should be food to go A are the headers really thjat important? unless my car is modded out which its not yet do i really need them?

you dont need them, but if you ever plan on modding i would go ahead and get them done now
and they bolt up to the stock flange by the cat, they come with everything you need IIRC

175 plus 50 shiping so 225 out the door thats the cheapest headers ive ever seen for the 3800 applications great deal unless anyone on here has a set of used or new ones i could check
