Motor mount help for 94 GP

I have a 94 (3.1) as a backup ride. Love the car but it seems like the top motor mounts wear out very quickly. Surely there is a heavy duty one I can buy. I don't dog it or anything, just normal driving but looks like a poor design.

Have you guys heard of this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My '89 Grand Prix had that problem. They are dog bone shaped mounts right? Its possible that either the lower motor mount and/or tranny mount is wore out which would put more stress on the upper ones in that they would be subjected to more engine movement than normal. So you might want to do a visual inspection on them and replace as needed.

No problem. My bet would be on the lower mount being bad, I just never got around to replacing mine to prove that. I had nearly 200k on my 89 GP and I figured it was time to let it go to someone else. It was still running and shifting strong when I sold it.

Do you know if anyone makes a heavy duty upper and/or lowers for 94? I know I'm gonna replace them I just would like to reduce the frequency of it.....lol. I'm just using the ones you get at Autozone.

Im not sure. I dont know if the lower motor mounts are the same over the years or if there have been changes. If they are the same then you can replace the OEM hydraulic ones with solid rubber ones which would help out a bit.
