• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

We pulled the motor in March with plans of a simple cam and headers install with a smaller pulley and a good tune... however after pulling the cam it looked like the lower intake had leaked coolant on the cam in the past causing fairly significant cam bearing wear. So we ordered new bearings and ARP bolts and off to the machine shop went the block, pistons, rods, crank, flex plate balancer etc.... Along with the normal block and piston reconditioning and new bearing install we had the heads ported, balance shaft oil hole plugged and the crank balanced. All of this was done at Automotive machine in Fraser MI. They do great work and are good guys however they had a bunch of motors in process and it took about 4 weeks to get our motor back. New parts include oil pan, oil pump, water pump, cam sensor, rollmaster timing chain. We went with an Xtreme energy cam, 105 springs and SLP ceramic headers. After a week or so of cleaning, painting an putting the motor together it is going back into the cradle tonight! We are planning a trip to Intense shortly for a smaller pulley (prolly a 3.2 or 3.1) and a dyno tune. Next winter we will work on the top half of the motor. We are thinking about going with a Gen 5 SC, full sized intercooler along with 60lb. injectors and some sweet looking fuel rails. We will also beef up the trans next winter. This is how the motor will look until next spring....

LMAO! I knew someone would notice that! I gotta get a new one first. Seems like the trips to the auto parts store never end and I always forget something! Gotta pick up hose clamps and header bolts too! :th_laugh-lol3:

Honestly, I would get the pulley from intense and drive the 10 minutes up the road to have Brian turner tune it. It will be a better tune than intense could give you.

Rented the cherry picker and dropped the motor in the cradle. I'm busy tonight but will connect all the accessories, headers, wiring harness etc Friday night after work.

Just have to finish bolting up exhaust and O2 sensors, install balancer and belts put the starter back in and she's ready to rumble!

Swapping that pulley out as well I'm guessin'?

Yeah going down to intense and having it tuned. I bought a 3.4 but with the cam and head work think I can go smaller. Intense said they would exchange it and tune down to a smaller pulley but still keep it safe. Probably will need a smaller SC belt now too... I'm just going to run the stock pulley for a week or so before making the trip south.

Good plan.

Just keep out of the throttle as much as you can, really.

I'd venture to say you could run a 3.2" pretty easy with a cam/head combo and no other form of cooling on a pretty stout tune with pump junk 91.

What is a pump junk 91?

I did buy the injector wiring kit from Intense that is supposed to increase stock injectors fuel pressure.

The motor is running really well but I'm showing a random misfire code. I'm guessing it's because of the cam. I'm also guessing that Intense will correct the parameters for that code or shut that code off at the tune... Haven't laid into the throttle yet... will wait until the dyno tune is done.

Looks sweet! When its all ready you should come out with a group of us including akarana23 because you arent too far over in warren!

P0300?

Random Misfire Code.

That comes from the aftermarket cam. I believe you need to get that tuned out, Intense will take care of all that.

I will be attending in this group as well. The more the merrier.
