More weirdness......

Alright, I have a weird thumping noise coming from the passenger side front, it seems like it is coming from the wheel well area. It is a sporadic noise that does not happen during turns. I only hear this noise for a few seconds mainly between 1-2 gear and going in a straight line. Though today it made the same noise while I was pulling up to a red light, the car does not pull to the left or to the right. The tires are new and balanced. The brake calipers are fine and from what I can tell the CVs are fine.

Maybe a loose piece of plastic? Any ideas?

It may be the front brake calipers, possibly too much clearance between the bracket and the pins in the bottom of the bracket bores. This is just a suggestion, not a diagnosis.

I encourage you to have the vehicle looked at by a certified technician. They will be able to offer an accurate diagnosis after a physical inspection.

Jack up the front end and see if anything moves out of the ordinary

Well I just got her on the lift and I am getting ready to take out the tranny. Yippee! So I will do a through check on the front end as well.

Check the diff when you pull the trans.

Bill - will do. Might as well check and fix everything while I just about have all of her ripped apart. I miss my car......

The tranny is about complete...the engine is close to half done....a few wrong parts were sent, so ya'll know how that goes. The flapping noise was the passenger side brake pad hanging on to the caliper like a limp biscuit. My pacesetter headers should be in today or tomorrow...sent of the pistons to be machined.....so hopefully here by middle of next month or first part of April I will be back on the road! She should drive like a brand new car out of all of this!
