Monsoon or not?

Hey guys I'm having a very hard time figuring out how I should wire in my new amp and sub into my 1998 Grand Prix GT. I have the premium sound system with the extra tweeters and 6x9's in the rear, everything is stock though btw. I read that Grand Prix's with the premium sound have a monsoon amp a low-pass crossover that supplies the 6x9's. If my car has this system, then I want to tap into those low-pass wires to feed sound to my new amp and 13" woofers. So yeah can you guys let me know if my car actually has the monsoon and crossover and if I do where it is because I think I have it and I cant find it. Thanks in advance!

The monsoon amp is in the trunk, right under the 6x9's... where the lights are for the trunk, very center. It's just a black box, mine has the monsoon logo on it. Im not sure if earlier models of the monsoon had the speaker front and center in the dash, but mine has that.

You can see here where the amp is next to the speaker.

Yeah I can't find any box like that I guess the pre-2004 models don't have monsoon. How should I set up the amplifier to get sound then? My amp has RCA and Hi-Level inputs

you would have to wire the amp in with power from battery a ground remote and then wire the speakers into the amp and use rcas to the back of an aftermarket deck or use a line out converter if your using the factory hu, just as if you were hooking up subs

i just did this same thing, used a line out converter off the rear speaker for my amp and sub. but i dont have a mosoon set up.

regal, concert sound. which means nothing its just a radio and speakers.

@Coleslaw and @scotyydoggs

Will this work then to convert from my factory hu and to control the level then? PAC LC2 Universal Bass Remote Level Control via Speaker Level I just wanted to make sure I can use these as kinda like a 2-for-1 deal because I've never heard of something that does both before.

EDIT: On the website it says this converter "Cuts out low frequency noise below 20Hz." Wouldn't this be bad though because subwoofers are meant to pump out really low soundwaves below 20Hz? Or does that mean it just cuts out background noise?

EDIT: I'm a noob sorry for the dumb question but yeah I got that hopefully it works

So a 1998 Grand Prix GTP has a Monsoon amp with the 8 speaker setup?

Technically it's not monsoon, it's Delco. It only powers the rear speakers and is very weak. The trunk mount is bose which is slightly better. You can tell by your rear deck. If you have quad rear deck speakers and no black trunk amp on trunk roof, you have the Delco system behind the glove box, and if you just have the 6x9s on the rear shelf, you have neither. Wires are ran completely different.

The system in the car is listed as "Premium Sound System" is that the Delco?

I would assume so. If you have two or four speakers behind the passenger seat, 90% yes, and definitive option is pinch in on either side of your glove compartment and drop it down. Amp should be small grey box, or if it's already removed, you'll see one or two connectors loose.
