molding around outside door handle

hello guys i question molding around the door handle (black rubber between the door skin and the plastic ) is that necessary or i can remove it because is coming out from its place and it looks bad ??

If its anything like the seal on a 97-03, and most cars are...

You'd really have to rip to get that out with the handle still in. Probably mess something up. Its not like an O-ring, it goes over pins and under bolts behind the part you can see. Very possibly just installed wrong, making it stick out. If you go pulling on it, it will probably get worse. If you trim it, you will need a new part if you ever want to fix it right. Your call but thats tough plastic. Could let too much water into the door in a bad spot, too. Considering theres probably lock wiring right there in the area. You probably just need to get inside the door and take the handle loose to reposition it. Might have been pinched in a spot now though.

so than can i buy this seal someplace or i need whole door handle i checked at rockauto and they have whole door handle whit the seal

Most of the guys here would go to a salvage yard and take a handle out to get another seal. They usually are yes, only sold new as part of the handle. Maybe ask a GM dealer if the seal is available seperately. You'll still have to take the handle out to swap it unless its a type I've never seen. If you'd rather avoid junkyards, find a used handle assembly for sale somewhere and just use that seal.
