Mods that won't void warranty

I had 98 GT for the last 11 years and just traded it in and purchased an 07 GT w/44k miles on it. Also just found this site. Anyway there is about a year and half left on the warranty and I was wondering what mods could be done and not void the warranty. Also curious what I could expect the car to run in the 1/4 bone stock. I enjoyed the stock 3.8 in my 98 and had fun messing with the tuner cars. I beat most of them and lost to a few. The blower on the 07 certainly makes this engine more fun. I'll hang up and listen. Thanks.

you need to check the terms of your warranty, but generally you should be fine with things like a CAI/FWI, real basic upgrades like that.

to the untrained eye you can get a press on pulley, a set of rockers, drop in K&N filter, even a powerlog and downpipe and a custom tune in the pcm are easy mods that will wake the car up and no one can really see them... i would mod it and replace the stuff back to stock if it ever blew up and you needed to bring it back to the dealer

only problem that i see is that there is no drop in PCM for the 06+ cars. He will have to run a 05 PCM ( and you can with "little" issue)

For them to legally void your warranty, they have to prove your mod caused the failure. This is where the fight starts though. Some places will deny warranty fixes if any mods are done and it is up to you to fight them. Iirc, it is called the magnuson/moss warranty act.

Exactly right.
