Modify exhaust to come out in front of passenger rear tire?

I put in a new catalytic converter this afternoon on my 06 GXP. While I was under my car I snapped this pic..

Has anyone here modified their exhaust to come out in front of the passenger rear tire, like so..

Just cut the exhaust where the blue line starts and weld a straight piece of the scrap exhaust pipe to the end of it to come out the side of the car in front of the rear tire.

You'll get rid of half the length of the exhaust system plus two bigass mufflers. Quite a bit of weight savings right there.

Yay or nay.. what say you?
 


That's a big NAY in my state, exhaust must exit at stock location or no inspection sticker. Open bed pickups it's ok, but not SUV's like blazer, explorer etc.
 
pretty much needs to be behind the furthest opening window here in NJ. but also cant be open headers or you fail inspection for sure.

had a friend with a Z06 vette, cam heads tune, all that cool crap, he was laughed out of inspection it was so loud, he had to put the stock cat back on to pass.
 


Oh I tried to cheat my way out of a speeding ticker by getting on a dirt road. I out ran the cop that was following me but not his buddy he called on the radio who was waiting for me at the end of the dirt road. lol
