Modding 08 GP GT..

Alright, after looking at all my options, I ordered the K&N CAI for my car. Now I would also like to add a little more HP that is easy to install so I have quite a few questions:

1. Would it make sense to get a 180 degree thermostat for my CAI? Will it work without a re tuned PCM? What differences will i notice?

2. Is an HV3 worth it? Is it more for top end or low end? IS it hard to install?

3. How much horsepower would i expect to get from the following: CAI, 180 degree thermostat and a HV3? ( I know it wont be a ton, but I have a budget)

THanks

Only thing I am going to say is good job wasting nearly $400 on something that works like CRAP. If you were on a budget (and I am pretty sure you've asked this question before)...you should have listened to us and made a BETTER intake for almost a tenth of what you just paid for that thing. And you need flow mods to make a HV3 run at its peak. Like a PLOG and Downpipe. And the 180* T-Stat won't hurt you but it won't HELP you without a tune. Send the K&N back and get serious if your going to mod your car.

I know I could have gone cheaper but I like the fact that it comes with everything needed and instructions.

Wish there were other easy mods like the CAI...

its all easy. but if your looking for easy shorts cuts and dont wanna get dirty then you prolly shouldnt be modding your car.

It's not that I don't want To get dirty it's just that I don't know my way around the engine as you guys do. But I can learn

You learn by doing things...how do you think I've learned everything about these cars...I didn't even know what a L67 was 3 years ago...let alone a GTP. Get in there...don't be afraid to mess up...you think you'll mess up with a intake system? Try 4 motors...then get back to me. So when you get it send it back and get your money back and mod right. Seriously...

Its not a big deal if you bought a CAI or build one yourself. Its a matter of personal preferance. As far as the 180 tstat it will work without a reprogrammed pcm. I ran one for awhile and I did not notice much. Its up to you if you want to do it. The HV3 is definitely worth it. You will notice it. Pairing it with a set of rockers will make it even more noticeable. Don't expect to much HP from the items you listed.

Alright well if I couple the CAI with the 180 degree Thermostat what will I notice? I mean like how does it make the engine run cooler? Do you the fans run longer or what?

at your level of modding it would not benefit you for the motor to run colder. it would only bring your MPG down.
