Mini Review On HP3 LED's from Diode Dynamics

I ordered a few of the new HP3 LED's from Diode Dynamics during the black Friday sale. I ordered a pair of red along with some white one's. I installed the red one's today. They are indeed brighter than an OEM bulb. I can just imagine how bright the HP5's must be. They seem to put out light uniformly.

The quality of these are very good compared to some of the cheaper LED's out on the market. They fit just right into the socket. One thing to note is that they are not polarity sensitive. No need to rotate them 180 degrees to get them to turn on. So far I like the light output of these.

Photos were taken with my iphone so they don't accurately represent the true color due to the camera having a head time focusing on the light.

They arrived nicely packaged. They do come color coded on the base to let you know what color they are.

These were to be installed into the front door courtesy light. I had some white 5 WLED LED's in them. They looked ok. This is how they looked.

Here is how they look after the HP3 bulb was installed. Notice the difference in light output.

I also had some of the other courtesy lights that can be found in the earlier model Grand Prix's with the clear and red assembly.

HP3 red LED. These would probably look best with white LED's

After with the HP3 bulb. Definitely brighter.

One night shot. They have a very nice deep red color to them.

I will follow up with the white LED's as soon as I replace the one going out.
