Well I knew it would happen sooner or later, I think I might get my first loss today. A mechanic at my work brought up the challenge yesterday, he has a 2005 GTO 5.7 with a tune, I/H/E, HUGE cam, and god knows what else....but the thing is mean. 6 speed with drag radials....huge bottle of nos in the trunk, not sure what shot but he claims it isnt hooked up (i hope hes right lol)

But anyways we'll see what happens....
 




Easy to hide the plumbing, and I dont know ANYONE who had a bottle in their trunk NOT hooked up. Words are very decieving.
 
i/h/e intake (as in cold air intake), headers, exhuast??

cam and exhaust is going to put the 5.7 in the 390-450 area depending on cam and tune. the gto's need some kind of tire with there stock tires being 245's and independent rear suspension (wheel hop ftl) so there not crazy good from a dig, well not unless you really know what your doing.

but the point is there not really monsters unless toped with a good set of heads also.

i say take it to the track on your slicks and race gas tune, should be a win for you then.
 
Im guessing might put a few lengths on you if what you say about it is true and he knows how to put the power to the ground. It happens.

are you hating the greatest engine ever created by god herself?? granted GTO's are heavy, and hes got a 6 speed, is he a good clutch guy? can he shift it? remember it is not the size of the bottle in the trunk but the size of the jet. just run him and see what happens

Im a PROUD owner of a 10sec ALL motor pump gas LS1! Im FAR from hating on a LS1!!!! LOL
 
Win or loose it's going to be a fun run...go for it, focus on you and things will go as they should...

...oh and get video...:)
 


05 GTO is a LS2, and a cammed LS2 on the bottle is some stiff competition, get it on camera and run from a dig and make sure to shut it down before 120mph lol

remember, your on borrowed time.
