Midnight Blue Metallic GXP?

Howdy folks! I'm new to the GXP scene, but not necessarily W-bodies. I currently have a '99 Regal GS that is approaching the 170K mile mark, and I want to replace it with a GXP. I am strongly considering the 2007 model to get the 5 year/100K mile warranty from GM.

I am specifically looking for one that is Midnight Blue Metallic.....however, they seem pretty hard to find. I don't much care for the "bleen", nor the more subtle light slate blue colored ones, and they seem to be in abundance out there! So my question is, were 07-08 GXP's in Midnight Blue Metallic a very limited production color run? Does anyone know the production numbers for this color?

Awesome site by the way. Great info here!

From another site, I have no idea how accurate it is.

05: 67 Sport Red (63U), 144 White (40U), 171 Bermuda Blue (26U), 231 Galaxy Silver (12U) 270 Medium Spiral Gray (88U), 484 Dark Cherry (77U), 643 Black (41U)

06: 179 Sport Red (63U), 329 Cobalt Red (27U), 397 Bermuda Blue (26U), 689 White (40U), 868 Light Tarnished (Liquid) Silver (67U), 913 Stealth Gray (46U), 1125 Dark Cherry (77U), and 2128 Black (41U), leaving 53 unaccounted for?

07: 87 Purple Haze (71U), 244 White (40U), 248 Imperial Blue (37U), 272 Cobalt Red (27U), 376 Red Jewel? (80U), 654 Stealth Gray (46U), 680 Light Tarnished Silver (67U), 689 Dark Tarnished Silver (Shadow Gray?) (42U), 1196 Black (41U)

08: 149 Imperial (Midnight) Blue (37U), 330 Red Jewel? (80U), 589 Dark Slate (87U), 624 Dark Tarnished Silver (Shadow Gray?) (42U), 726 Black (41U), 766 Cobalt Red (27U), 815 Light Tarnished (Liquid) Silver (67U), and 843 White (40U).

Interesting. What is the proper name for the light slate blue color or the one that's commonly referred to as "Bleen"?

Thanks for posting that btw.

I think you're referring to 2 different colors entirely.

There is the "bleen" color which looks like, well blue-green. I believe the correct name is Bermuda Blue.

There there's the slate colored blue/grey car that you're referring to, it's actually called Stealth Grey.

Thank you for clarifying that! So...

1.) light slate blue = Stealth Grey

2.) "bleen" blue/green = Bermuda Blue

3.) midnight blue metallic = Imperial Blue

The darker blue that is properly referred to as Imperial Blue, is the color I am looking for. Interesting....Autotrader shows ONE for sale in the entire United States in that specific color right now. According to the stats given previously, that Imperial Blue color was only available during 2007-2008, and apparently there were only about 400 made in that color as well. I'd say that's pretty dang rare.
