Methanol Injection ?

Hey i not framiliar with using methanol injection. But today i was surfing through these forums and seen a devils own advertisement. I looked into their site and was looking at a stage 2 Methanol Injection kit for a GTP. My questions were is Methanol Injection a big benefit and worth the money? Also im not sure if i need any supporting mods to run this ? Thanks a lot. :th_thumbsup-wink:
 


id suggest doing a little searching on it.

however, the consensus is that an intercooler is more effective, but meth/alky injection will be a shorter cost up front.

ive ran it, but im not sure if given the option that i'd do it again.
 
I did it cause I did not want to buy an intercooler yet, I am 1000m above sea level, and have a 3.5 " pulley,and tune opf ~ 5-12 degrees of timing wot, I did it to cool the intake slightly, and for the octane boost. It seems to work well for me.

I am using:
- devils own injector 5 gph- oversized I was told if using 100% methanol, I am using 20-40% methanol
- a farm spay pump for 130 psi
- a fuel pressure switch for nitrous safety set to 4-5 psi boost
 
Methanol injection is a proven power adder in so many applications. Its just very slow to catch on in this market. Its on tons of cobalts ss, buick gn, sti, evo, vw, audi, LS based apps. these can very easy cool better than even the best intercoolers for these.

If you look on clubgp the vendors pushing against water methanol injection also produce intercoolers which has more markup for them. so you can see they are just looking after there pocket book.

Im sure i will, ill message you when im interested in buying a kit. Are there full kits that include every last piece u need to install it?
 


yes it comes with eveything other than a tank. most people either use there washer tank or they buy a seperate tank from us or local. We don't force you into a tank.
 
hey reptile How bad is the tuning for meth Im going to drop to a 3.2 in aug and im picking up a tuner as well just curious
I may need a little extra help for knock meth might be the answer
 
It's not too bad with a wideband, you end up pulling a little fuel in your PE tables, and then you can bump the timing way up.
 


Ive been looking at it for over a year id already have it but my build ran over in price Ill get comfortable with the tuner first
