Meth injection question

I have read that lots of people drill, tap, and put the nozzles for the meth kit directly into the lim. Would there be a huge difference in performance or reliability if I buy a throttle body spacer and put the nozzles into that? I would be doing a two nozzle job because I am supercharged and was thinking a nozzle on each side of the spacer. Thanks for the help in advance.

save yourself some money and drill/tap the blower case itself right in the neck.

there's also no reason to do two nozzles, the blower is going to direct it where it wants anyway. the only reason you'd do it in the LIM is to make sure you fogged the LIM and had really, good even distribution. you being supercharged doesn't matter about one versus two nozzles. you're going to be running the same amount of meth anyway.

however, you didn't ask about the cost versus benefits of spraying meth, which is a whole different story...

Perfect, I will drill and tap the neck then. Bio can you give me some more info then on the cost/benefits on spraying meth? I have been reading multiple threads and a ton of peoples opinions on it but the more info the better.

So far I have gathered:
Pros- reduced air temps, raises octane rating essentially, reduces kr, more power, more boost, and I think I am forgetting a few
Cons- takes off rotor coating in superchargers, needs tuning, and risk of damage to engine if you are being dumb and go WOT when you are out of meth.

I am sure I am forgetting a few things for both the pros and cons but basically those are the main points to each. Anyone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong because this is just what I am understanding so far through my research.

I would prefer to stay away from e85 just because it is a bit more money to do and some things concern me such as finding stations with e85 while on the road(I travel 8 hours one way to and from college), it is a bit more expensive to do from what I have vaguely read, and my car is a DD but I think e85 would cost more per mile? I haven't really looked into it as an option to be honest.

As far as inter cooler, I have really no clue how to go about the plumbing and think it might be out of my wrenching capabilities. Once again, I have not put much thought into this option so I am not so knowledgeable on what all goes into installing it.

What are the benefits of e85 and FSIC over meth when properly tuned? I am going to assume probably more power, less kr, easier to tune, no possibility of screwing up your motor when going WOT(if the meth were to run out). Anything else?

Yeah from what I have been reading everyone has their different opinions on if it does or does not so I figured I would throw it in there since I have no proof on if it does or doesnt other than what I have read. Worse comes to worst it is at least agreed upon that when meth is being sprayed, it acts as a coating so it helps the superchargers efficiency.

i sprayed a lot of meth and the car always felt doggy while i was doing so, but i was also running low timing because we never got to get a second session of tuning in. i was running a 3.2 on headers and rockers with 100% meth. pure methanol is kind of expensive, too. you can always just run washer fluid (~30% alcohol). it never knocked when i was spraying. i would say from that experience that it's better to spray a lower amount (smaller nozzle) and use it to cover up knock spikes and maybe run another degree or two of timing, but that's it. these cars don't seem to take well to the meth for some reason when you're still on the m90.

otherwise you seem to have the main points down as to why you'd want to run it.

Yeah I heard the car can feel bogged down a bit if you spray too much meth and they say the answer to fix that is a smaller nozzle or to adjust how much is spraying at what points. Thanks for explaining

if you look around you should be able to find methanol for reasonable prices. you can buy it online from http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/premixed-methanol/125-devilsown-brew.html for 25 dollars and get 4 gallons, which is a bit more expensive if you get it locally. I've sourced the methanol locally for about 6 dollars a gallon, and then diluting it to a 50/50 mixture brings the cost down to 3 dollars a gallon. if I get the methanol, that's what I plan to do.

when spraying methanol, does it lean the afr or richen it? a 55 gallon drum would probably expire before it all got used at that rate

Definitely makes it more rich like bio said and wow I didn't realize it would last that long. I am going to try and find a local place to get methanol from as soon as I find someone who can properly tune my car
