metal sound/foam

two questions in one post both im thinking deal with the engine. 1st of all, when im accelerating weather it be from a stop, or on a highway doing 60 my car makes this wierd sound as if metal was hitting or rubbing against something, but the more i accelerate the less it happens, my wheels are straight, and the s/c is not boosting.

2nd of all, when i checked my oil before i realized the cap had a yellowish foam, and than when i looked down into the engine, i realized it was in the oil alittle bit too, mostly along the walls, my car had been sitting for just 3 hours, but when i started it up reved the engine and than looked again, the foam was gone. Should i be worried, or treat it with steam foam?

coolant maybe? if so... yes u have something to worry about. and wtf is steam foam... u mean sea foam... ?

if u have coolant in ur engine... sea foam isnt gonna do sh*t for ya... coolant in engine means bad stuff.

depends on the amount, a little on the cap is no big deal, but if its covered everytime you pull it and the same on your dipstick you have issues

ya its never on the dip stick just cap. but is sea foam a bad idea to do? Ive heard mixed things from people with different cars.

The yellowish foam you see if moisture and it is very normal. Once the engine warms up the moisture works its way out of the mix. the only place it really collects is the fill cap.

To the cat who never saw yellow foamy oil on his engine oil cap............start the car in the morning, drive down the block, come back and shut the car down. Wait 5 minutes then pull the oil cap off..........

As for your other question...what type of metal sound is it??? You need to try and be a little more precise on explaining it. If you could capture some sound clips that would be best. Is it metal on metal? faster or slower with RPM?? coming from the engine or suspension?? Can you feel anything in the steering wheel? Is it metal on metal or metal on something else?? When did you start to hear it? has it gotten worse? It could literally be a million different things.

i will try to get a sound clip, but for now, it started right after i got a new cv joint new wheel bearing and 2 new front tires, my car used to shake at highway speeds about 65 plus, found out bent rim, but the metal sound still happens. It doesnt matter if the car is cold or has been running a while, it happens in 1st gear from about 5 mph til 15mph without boosting and than on highway when i accelerate say from 65 to 75, it sounds like metal on metal i really dont think its something like rotors/ brakes etc and im pretty sure its comming from the engine, i checked to see if anything rubs, leaks but found nothing, as for rpms it really happens mostly from around 1500 to about 2700 depending on if its highway or not. however, faster i accelerate, the less the sound. hope this helps for now.
