• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I want to media blast some fbody calipers and bracket anyone know the best media for that since they are aluminum/

Thanks

those shouldn't etch the aluminum... granted if you are carefull pretty much anything will work if you are just going to prime and paint...

Spartans the crook's were Plasti-dip over powder coat so I decided to get the equipment do my own and make some money on the side (by doing it right and being honest unlike our friend Mr. Walter), but heard a horror story about someone using coal slag on aluminum I know that is too hard but went to some sites and if you look at corn cob, walnut and glass different sites each say something bad about one, then good about another so depending on the site its a toss up was looking to see if anyone had some experience with them

Just did a set for Greg Badass. Go 80 grit glass, works awesome! I can post a pic if you want to see what they look like when done.

I blasted at about 90psi. Cleaned off two layers of paint pretty quickly. Prep work takes a lot longer than the blasting. If you use coal slag and/or aluminum oxide I think it will leave a darker finish. Glass beads leaves a brighter finish. The bracket needs done again, it looked like the calipers originally, but they start to surface rust pretty quickly. Best not to do the brackets until you're ready to paint.

Yeah that I knew but thanks anyway. My plan is to do enough side work that it at least pays for equipment and since it looks like my company may be downsizing maybe enough to keep me afloat while I try to find work
