me vs skyline (G35)

nemesis

this guy at work wants to race me, he has a 06 skyline. here's his mods 2nd stage nos, headers, exhaust, intake and few other bolt on i forgot. it automatic btw. i told him if he's spraying i will not race.

here's my mods 04 mc ss s/c: xp, p&p heads, pacesetter, 3" exhaust, 3.1 mps, injectors, ported M90 inlet/outlet, ported lim, N*, 3.29 and other misc.

you guys think i beat him motor to motor? i raced G35 before and easily beat it.

well, I wouldn't go as far as to call it a skyline, but I guess it is as close as can be bought here.... they are quick, and the nissan 3.5L takes to mods pretty well, but your built so it should be close either way.....

It isn't that grey colored, lowered one with the wide-body kit and the staggered rims I've seen out in the burbs is it??

no his is black looks all stock from outside. he never drive to work and i never see it, but i heard he got the car.

edit: let me correct that, it's the american version skyline.

Let him use the bottle. If you loose then you just need to sell your car and buy a Honda. Unless he has 150 shot or some crap since I'm not really getting what you mean by '2nd stage NAWZ' unless your referring to a two stage.

I wouldn't make a big deal about calling a G35 a Skyline, while technically it is (Nissan Skyline 350GT, but its not like its a GT-R or anything wicked), it just makes it sound like you are trying to race something faster than a garden variety G35 lol.

That being said, with an XP cam, port work, gears etc, you should have him off the spray. There aren't really any good NA mods you can do on the VQ35 motor aside from a ported lower intake plenum and a plenum spacer. Exhaust etc doesn't really gain you that much. Forced induction is the only real way to make power, so like I said, as long as he isn't spraying you will take him failry easy IMO. Oh yeah, he has an automatic too. KILL HIM! lol

BTW I have gotten yet another new car (for anyone that knows me or cares lol). I replaced my '02 Z28 with a 2005 G35 coupe 6-spd not too long ago lol. :p I took my G to Cecil County right after I got it and ran 14.0 @ 102.3mph all stock. There was a guy there with a G35 coupe that had headers, exhaust, no cats, underdrive pulleys, intake, etc and was only running 14.2 @ 102mph lmao.

Here is mine BTW if anyone cares: (I have to update my sig now haha)

^^^ Nice purchase, I didn't mean that it isn't similar, but I thought the skyline was discontinued in 2002????

Thanks! No, just the R34 bodystyle/generation stopped after 2002. The V35 Skyline (aka Infiniti G35) bodystyle came next. This should help explain it:

LINK --> Nissan Skyline - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia :th_biggrin2:

The 11th generation (V35) Nissan Skyline, introduced in June 2001, was based on Nissan's FM platform, shared with the 350Z. The Nissan Skyline used a front-midship engine (VQ35DE), rear-wheel drive layout (all-wheel drive was available for the sedan) to achieve a 52%/48% weight distribution. The V35 was the first Skyline made for export to the United States. There it was sold under the company's luxury brand, Infiniti, as the Infiniti G35.

sorry, i'm not very familar with noz stuff. it's 2 stage is what he have:(

i'm not saying it's a very super fast car i'm racing with. the only thing i knew about the G35 skyline was that it's not like the same as the japan version. i'm not up to date with all import cars btw, but the way everybody was talking how fast his car is that's why i want to know little more on this G35.

Because it was my daily driver and I wanted something a little more practical and something with better fit and finish, handling, etc. If I could afford it I would have kept both cars. Cecil is about 45 mins or so from me.

Despite being too late, I always thought the Z was hot. An I really always liked the TA's better but yours was one I did enjoy looking at.

An to get on topic you should take the G35 off the bottle an possibly on it depending on the shot (size when where) ect. I would say Race once off an once on (but I dont mind losing, its all fun to me). Good luck an report back.
