May need new resonator... glasspack?

Granted, I got my resonator on eBay for $50 and bolted it on myself. But the Thrush was only $26 plus $53 to have the shop put a flange on it and weld the other end in.
ouch !!! 53 bucks . ya might wanna look around for better prices. i paid $25 for the same thing , but i did supply my own $13 dollar flange. but that flange should still be reusable when i need to put a new gpack on unlike the resonator flange that was removed. i'm gonna talk my brother into splitting the cost of a cheap harbor freight mig welder and do the rest of the exhaust myself.

$53 is far cheaper than any other place in town... $10 for the flange, $20 for each weld, plus tax.
i originally wanted to band clamp everything for easy removal later , but no size clamp (i had anyway) would work because of the size difference. had i got the 2.25 (# 24205)gpack i could of just band clamped everything. but i wanted the bigger body.
$10 band clamp > $20 per weld

if you have the factory cat back still it needs to be welded in. if its after market already the glass pack will clamp on with no issues. like in my pics up there.

only you need a flange welded on the end of the g/p so it can still bolt to the dp/

2.25 inch band clamps should work as long as you got the 2.25 gpack and this flange. you might need a butt band clamp for the gp to flange

i used a band clamp with the cat and flange part of the header dp butted up. it held good, no leaks. got to love band clamps. they are the best.

no doubt. i actually bought two 2.25 clamps but then i decided on the 2.5 gpack , so it made the clamps useless...almost ... now i'm going to use them in place of the u clamps on the mufflers if the pipes aren't to bent out of shape from the u clamps.

I'm going with the 36" Magnaflow resonator lol. Might be a little pricey but I've used Magnaflow products quite a bit and they've never failed me. Great quality as well. The thrush glasspacks seem to do ok but they are a division of Walker Exhaust and I hate that company lol.

This thread may help you. It was just updated BTW.

It's owned by Tenneco. Which also owns Dynomax, Walker, Thrush, and surprisingly Monroe

I love my thrush glass pack, of course mines pretty loud since I have no mufflers.

Mines been on since 2003 but I think it's finally going bad because it pops after driving a while.
