Mass air flow sensor questions

Went to put mass air flow sensor I got from salvage yard and it looks nothing like mine, I have 98 gtp with 2001 gtp motor are there two different sensors
 


I don't remember what year they switched

I imagine this is what you need? It's a pic from my 99GTP
 
I see. That's weird. I was told the shorter ones are the ones from the like 96 and older cars. Apparently I was told wrong. The one for my car is like $140 for a reman from Autozone up here o.O
 
Guess I'll take the sensor I got from salvage yard back and pull the sensor out of my car while in there n see if they can find me the right one, idk what else to do
 


So I have the smaller sensor in my throttle body now, what year is that from, I have a spare throttle body that takes the bigger sensor

So if you still have the 98 computer, run that throttle body and MAF sensor.

I think FFDP here was saying it is a bad idea to run the 99+ throttle body and sensor if the computer is set up for the 98 throttle body and sensor
 
Yeah, I was trying to kindly get that point across instead of saying something like, "do you even know how to read? It was just typed out for you" I thought I would just kinda restate the point =P
