Mass Air Flow Sensor assistance!

Someone gave me a 2000 grand am it's in rough shape but the engine is working well and the AC is good, which is important here is AZ. In any case I'm trying to located the maf sensor to clean it first before buying a new one. Problem, I not sure where it is. This is my first maf cleaning. Any help would be awesome I can post pics if needed. Thanks
 


it's in the air intake tube or on the throttle body. I'm not sure which right now because my wife is at work and i can't look at her grand am to find out
 
Look for a plug going into part of the hose between your air intake and the motor itself. ON the 2001 I know its a purple plug
