Marathon running, anyone?

Bio248

DUI BABY
so i just spent my weekend in green bay (wi) rooting on my girlfriend. she decided she wanted to run a marathon and did an amazing job in finishing it. we met her at a bunch of different mile markers to cheer her on. this was her first marathon and she ran it in 6 hours and 17 minutes. coming from me, that is an amazing feat since i cant stand running for a couple miles at a time.

i love this girl and her determination:

anyone else into this kinda stuff? i might sign up for a HALF marathon at some point. the thought of 26.2 miles is WAY worse to me than the thought of 13.1 miles. :th_jester:

running in pt every other morning in basic was enough for me
and that was 12 years ago
Altho picking up a treadmill tomorrow and hope to get up to 5-8 miles a day

as far as 26 miles HELL no that is why i bought a car

it was amazing to see the amount of people that came out for it. i have no idea how many people didn't finish, but i know i saw more than one person cross the finish line and basically pass out.

the endurance it takes is insane not to mention the training and determination ill give props for that

hell in basic i was watching people fall out over 6-8 mile runs at 6-7 minute pace
i was close to it but i kept it together
improved my 2 mile from 18 min to 13 min best i could do lol a marathon would no doubt kill my fat arse

she started the race with close to a 11:00 min/mile pace, which would put her under 5 hours for a total time. she stuck with that pace for around 10 miles, but started getting worn down. towards the end she ended up running about 15 minute miles. even so, its 26.2 miles so that ain't no joke.

hell no i mean i walked 15 miles once (car died in bfe) and slept for like 12 hours straight after and that was just a walking pace and my calfs were diing the next few days

****, last time i was forced to run 2 miles i almost died, My asthma is so bad I can barely run from house to house now :(

whats sad was back in HS i was #3 runner.

last time i did any kind of distance running was in highschool. the 1 mile for pe, lol.

i dont even like to drive 26 miles let alone do it by foot.

im fat athsmatic and a smoker, i may possibly have a 1/4 mile in me lol

good for her though that takes a ton of determination

between having 2 knee surgeries on my left knee... pot and cigarettes i prob could run 100 yards. awesome job on her running that far. hope u gave her a good massage afterwards.
