Just wondering since im like completely new to the domestic car game.. I know neither the gt or gtp came manual bt has there been people who have swapped the tranny? Like i was maybe thinking da manual tranny from a 3800 camaro might fit but again not sure.... So is it possible? any info would be great..Thanks:th_scratchhead:

yes it is possible, but not sure with that tranny.....the gp's havent come with a stick since the early 90's(94?) and never with a 3800 or a 3800 SC'ed. look in the tranny section under the getrag tranny........this is the stock manual tranny for the gp. Do a search you will find there have been several people to do this....the camaro is a rear wheel drive vehicle and the gp's are fwd.....lots of changes if you want to tackle this project with a camaro drive train....

The manual from the Camaro won't work without converting to RWD (side note, why has this come up twice in the past couple of days?). It has been done with the Getrag 282 5 speed that minichopper mentioned and with the F40 6 speed from the G6, but they are not easy swaps by any means.
