Malibu vs Fusion

Madness

New member
Friend is looking to replace a 02 Grand Am and wants either a Malibu or Fusion. I like the looks of the new 2014 Fusions, but not the price. We test drove a 2013 Malibu w/2.5L and LT1? trim level.

I thought the Malibu rode a little rough, but was pretty nice otherwise and had lots of options such as touch screen backup camera, etc. she liked.

Dealer 2 blocks away has a 2014 Fusion with 1.5L ecoboost she wants to test drive.

Anyone on here have any advise?

Just because of the recall is a poor reason to ignore the car entirely. Especially if they like it.

I suggest testing drive both and go from there. Our opinions should matter much we're not the ones buying the car. Let the test drive, options and pricing of it determine which ones is better suited for her. Recalls happen.. She won't be out of pocket for em so who really cares plus it could help in the negotiation portion.

If your friend is looking for the best midsize sedan then go look at the Mazda6. Good pricing, best mileage, great looks (imo), great handling car, and is decently fast for the segment. See if your friend would go look at one. If you need more info on 2013 Malibus I could help there. Both of my parents bought 2013 boos.

I'm still not convinced Mazda fixed their rot issues.
